By using this website or placing an order with us, either by telephone, in person at our dairy or through our website, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you have any questions regarding these Terms and Conditions, please contact us using the contact page on our website.
All contracts will be made under English law and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.

Ribblesdale Cheese is run and owned by Iona Hill. Iona took the business over from her late uncle, Iain Hill in 2006.

Our contract with you
When you place an order with us, your order is classed as an offer which, if accepted by us, results in a binding contract. By proceeding through the ‘checkout process’ and ticking the ‘Accept’ tick-box regarding these Terms and Conditions, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, and you are making an offer to purchase goods.
Your completion of the checkout process does not constitute Ribblesdale Cheeses’ acceptance of your order. Payment will be taken from your debit/credit card and an acknowledgment of your order will be emailed to you. Acceptance of your order and the formation of a contract between you and Ribblesdale Cheese occurs on dispatch of your order to you, unless Ribblesdale Cheese has notified you that they do not accept your order, cannot fulfil it, or you have cancelled it.
Your debit/credit card will, therefore, be debited before the contract is formed. If your order is ultimately rejected, a full refund will be made immediately. If you do not receive an email acknowledging receipt of your order and your credit/debit card has been debited, please get in touch with Ribblesdale Cheese immediately. Personal and credit/debit card details supplied by you must be correct and valid and such that you are authorised to use.
If we are unable to accept your order, we will inform you of this and will not charge you for the product. This might be because the product is out of stock, because we have identified an error in the price or description of the product or because we are unable to meet a delivery deadline you have specified.
Unfortunately, we are not able deliver orders placed through the website to addresses outside of the UK and the Republic of Ireland. If you would like to have an order delivered to an address outside of the UK please contact us through the contact us page.
Product description and substitution
The images of the products on our website are for illustrative purposes only. Products and their packaging may vary slightly from the pictures on the website. Where you have provided your consent for us to do so, from time to time, we may substitute products according to what we have available, where this occurs, this will be an equal weight and value; the price of your order will not change.
Where you have indicated that you do not want a substitute product or having consented to receiving a substitute, if a suitable substitute is not available, we will notify you and give you the opportunity to either cancel your order or wait for the chosen product to become available.
You would like to make a change to an order
If you wish to make a change to the selection you have ordered, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your order, we will let you know if the change is possible and ask you to confirm whether you wish to go ahead with the change. Please note that we aim to send orders out next day up to and including Wednesdays, so it may be that your order has been dispatched, in which case, the order has been contractually fulfilled.
How to cancel an order
If you wish to cancel an order you have already placed, please get in touch with Ribblesdale Cheese as soon as possible. We reserve the right not to accept cancellation of orders for some cheeses as it may be a type or already have been prepared in a way that we cannot sell it to anyone else or it may already have been dispatched. If Ribblesdale Cheese accepts the cancellation of your order and you have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.
Pricing and changes to pricing
Payment is processed using Stripe, a leading payment platform. Pricing includes VAT, where applicable, at the current rate. Prices may be updated periodically. Ribblesdale Cheese will inform you of the revised price before dispatching your order; you can choose to accept or decline the order.
While Ribblesdale Cheese tries to ensure that all prices on their website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat your order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid for the goods, we will refund you in full.
We take great pride in the quality and condition of our cheese and it should reach you in the best possible condition. When you receive your order, please take it out of its vac pack and wrap in waxed paper or cling film and store in an airtight box in the fridge. Doing this in a prompt manner helps to check the quality and also store your cheese in the best way possible. If you are unhappy with the condition, please take some pictures and call us, we will do our best to resolve the situation.
If you would like a replacement order, we can send that out for you or if you would rather just have your money back, we can do that too. As we handle cheese, which changes with age, we do ask that you contact us with regards to quality concerns within 24 hours of receipt of the order.
Random weight cheese is just that, random!
All of our cheeses are cut by hand, using our experience to estimate quantities; we cannot provide you with fixed weights but we do assure you a minimum weight. Sometimes, a whole cheese may be under the prescribed weight. When this happens, we will top up the weight with the same or similar quality and priced cheese to ensure the minimum weight is reached.
Deliveries are made Tuesday to Friday
We offer free shipping and arrange for next day delivery.
We send out cheese care packs on Monday through to Wednesday. We do not send out cheese on Thursdays or Fridays, to avoid any issues arising from courier delay. We use a variety of couriers and as stated, we bear the cost for 24 hour, next day delivery. Couriers state they will deliver between 8am and 6pm on Tuesdays to Thursdays in England, Wales and Central Scotland.
Please note that in recent times, courier deliveries have been delayed. This will not damage or harm your cheese if they are delivered a couple of days late as they are vac packed, which are packed in an airtight seal and cannot be exposed to any bacteria. If delayed, there is a chance that your cheese may be exposed to a higher temperature than normal; again, this will not harm the cheese, if this happens, please take out of its vac pack, as usual, wrap in waxed paper or cling film and place in an airtight container in the fridge on arrival.
We will provide you with the tracking information so that you can track your parcel yourself.
We regret, we cannot track your parcel for you which is why we have provided you with the tracking information.
Please be aware that couriers do occasionally fail next day delivery, especially during busy periods and there is, frustratingly, nothing we can do about this. We are sorry, but refunds cannot be given for failed deliveries, providing you receive your cheese within five days of dispatch.
In most cases a signature is not required to acknowledge delivery. Our delivery times are for guidance and are not a guarantee. We cannot take responsibility for length of delivery time once an item is dispatched from us to our carrier.
On arrival, please remove the cheese from its vac pack, wrap in waxed paper or cling film and store in an airtight container in the fridge. This allows you to inspect the condition and also allow your cheese to breathe nicely for best quality.
Timed delivery attract additional charges
If you require delivery before a certain time, there is an additional charge, please call or e-mail us to discuss this.
Please note, we are unable to arrange for Saturday deliveries.
Delivery to Islands and the Scottish Highlands
We apologise, but due to the costs issued by the courier companies, delivery to the following postcodes attracts a £5.50 surcharge and takes 2-5 days. We recommend that you do not purchase boxes that include the soft, goat curd because it may perish in this delivery window.

Delivery is not available for online orders for the following postcodes and areas
